Mushroomband – Mushroomband

Mushroomband is a special type of hookband developed for Hook and Loop fasteners that are not opened very often but must have a very high shear and tensile resistance. In Dutch, this type of tire is also called mushroom tire or mushroom tire.

Normal hook tape, as the name also describes, has hooks that engage the loops of the loop tape. Mushroomband is provided with ‘hooks’ in the shape of a mushroom. This provides more resistance in all directions.

If Mushroomband mushroom tape is combined with normal Sewable Loopband, an extremely strong Hook and Loop tape closure is created. Because the Mushroomband hooks more strongly onto the loopband, the number of openings is lower than with a normal hook and loopband. This is the reason why this combination should be used for Velcro fasteners that need to be opened less often.
