Self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners

StrapRyte® holds a large stock of self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners with two different adhesive layers: Hotmelt and Acrylic.

The advantage of both types of self-adhesive fasteners is that they are “ready-to-use” and “pressure sensitive”. In other words, they are easy to use by anyone. After removing the protective film, the hook-and-loop fastener can be applied directly. No special equipment is required.

Simply apply and firmly press down (especially the edges). The Hotmelt hook-and-loop fasteners can also be loaded directly, while the Acrylic hook-and-loop fasteners should ideally be allowed to cure for at least 24 hours after application.

For special applications and surfaces, StrapRyte® also provides so-called weldable hook-and-loop fasteners, also known as weldable fasteners. Special equipment is required for processing these hook-and-loop fasteners!

Hotmelt or Acrylic adhesive layer. What are the advantages and differences?

We have outlined the additional advantages and differences of both types of adhesives for you: Hotmelt has high initial tack and can be loaded almost immediately after the hook-and-loop fastener is applied. This adhesive layer is not suitable for surfaces with plasticizers, damp conditions, or outdoor applications. The advantages compared to acrylic are a more favorable price and better load-bearing capacity. Acrylic has lower initial tack than Hotmelt and needs to cure before a very strong bond is formed. This adhesive layer can be used on most surfaces, including most plastics with plasticizers (PVC). An exception is polypropylene. Unlike Hotmelt, acrylic is suitable for use in damp conditions or large temperature variations.

Special types of self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners

In addition to the traditional self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners with Hotmelt and Acrylic adhesive layers, we also supply many other types of self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners. These include Self-adhesive Hook-and-Loop Coins, Self-adhesive Hook & Loop in One, Self-adhesive Velour, Self-adhesive Microhook, Weldable HF (High Frequency) hook-and-loop fasteners, and (Weldable) Heat Activated hook-and-loop fasteners.

Self-adhesive hook-and-loop coins

Self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners can also be die-cut. For example, in the well-known and widely used self-adhesive hook-and-loop circles. StrapRyte® stocks self-adhesive hook-and-loop circles with a hotmelt adhesive layer in diameters of: 16MM - 22MM - 47MM. All diameters are available in black and white.

Self-adhesive Hook & Loop in One

Hook & Loop in One - also called Omnitape is a hook-and-loop fastener with both hooks and loops on one side. Due to this 50/50 ratio, this is the only hook-and-loop fastener that can adhere to itself. In addition to Sewable Hook & Loop in 1, StrapRyte® also supplies a self-adhesive variant with a Hotmelt adhesive layer.

Self-adhesive Microhook - extra thin hook tape

An extruded self-adhesive hook tape that is thinner than traditional hook tape due to this special production process. When Microhook is combined with sewable or self-adhesive velour (soft side), this creates a hook-and-loop connection that is more than 50% thinner than a traditional hook-and-loop connection.

Self-adhesive velour

The "counterpart" (soft side) of Microhook but also a product that is regularly used for finishing products or covering a hard surface.

Specialist self-adhesive hook-and-loop fasteners

For special applications and surfaces, StrapRyte® also supplies so-called weldable hook-and-loop fasteners, also known as weldable fasteners. Such as Heat Activated and High Frequency (HF) hook-and-loop fasteners. Special equipment is required for processing these hook-and-loop fasteners!
